Discipleship for Young Families

First United Methodist Church of Conroe

As Christ’s followers we are called to be growing more like Jesus in every area of our lives. Wesleyans call this process sanctification, and it is marked with growth in love for God and others. Nowhere do we have a greater opportunity to live out our faith than in our families.  Family life provides us with daily opportunities to practice forgiveness, love and faithfulness.

We also realize that truly loving those in our families is oftentimes challenging. That’s why we want to support our families by helping them live out their faith in a variety of areas – in marriage, at work, and at home as a family.

Here are some of the ways we encourage spiritual growth for families:

Small groups for Young Families

We believe that life change and spiritual growth happens best in small groups. We have small groups for young families on Sunday mornings and mid-week small groups

Educational programs

We periodically offer Christian education classes, and workshops on various topics relating to family life, including marriage enrichment, parenting, family discipleship, single parenting, and financial management.

Family Discipleship

At FUMC Conroe, we believe that discipleship takes place in the home as well as within the church. We believe parents have a God-given role of faith formation for their children. We are intentional in equipping parents for this important task. We offer training and helpful resources for parents in teaching their children the faith. Check out the links below to learn more about family discipleship.
